Does my concrete floor need to be maintained?

Yes, properly sealed concrete will require some maintenance, water and a light soap will be fine for normal use. For high traffic areas I always recommend wax. This will give protection to your seal coat. There are specific cleaners that are designed to care for decorative concrete floors, when mixed with a bucket of water, clean up is a snap. High traffic businesses, like restaurants and bars, may want to commit to a maintenance contract with a local decorative concrete company. This will insure the original beauty of the floor.

Can cracks be repaired so that they don't show through my skim coat?

Yes, there are many ways to repair cracks. Structural cracks that go to the bottom of the slab can be filled and repaired but there is no guaranty that these cracks won't resurface. We have several systems that repair cracks effectively.
